Hi Guys,

We had a good turn out and a good time at the Fly-In to Flabob in June.
There were thirteen people, six planes and one car.

From Brown Field came Dennis Cullum in an RV-3. From Gillespie Field came
Robert & Leann Werve and Frank Garza in a Skymaster and Mike Gretton in a
Lancair. From Montgomery came Chris Claborne & Mike Schmied in a C-177RG and
Jim Newport and Tony Tex in a Skymaster. And in a car (it's
temporary-they're building an RV-8) came Leonard & Barbara Ascher.

Oh, it was a terrific flying day. It was a severe clear CAVU day without
the usual "June Gloom". I'm glad the "May Grey" caused us to cancel the
Fly-In to Flabob last month. Compared to this Fly-In, it would have been an
eye-squinting and cloud dodging flight.

I forgot who was the first plane to land at Flabob, probably Mike Gretton.
Anyway in his speedy Lancair, he "camped" on tables and chairs until
everyone arrived.

Lots of camaraderie and interesting aviation chatter over breakfast, not
to mention we resolved the world's problems, and a decision for the next
Fly-In's destination. Then off we scattered like a gaggle of geese on our
own favorite routes back to San Diego.

Chris Claborne, our webmaster, said he'll have pictures posted on our
website shortly.

Our next Fly-In will be to Camarillo (CMA) on Sun, July 23rd.

Best of clear skies and tailwinds,

Tony Tex
