Hi guys,

For our Calexico Fly-In on Sun, Feb 18th we had twelve people in five
planes.

Flying out of Gillespie were Jerry Jackson, Jeff, Cary & Dave Darr in a
172; and Robert Werve, Dave Kennedy and Tom & Kristin Cline in a 337.

Flying out of Brown was Dennis Cullum in his Tomahawk.

Flying out of Montgomery were Mike Schmied & Ron Inniger in a C77RG, and
Jim Newport & Tony Tex in a 337.

It was great weather with a high ceiling and just a little lumpy air over
the rocks on the short flight there. We got there and back before the
forecast for a lowering ceiling and rain.

As usual, lots of hangar flying at breakfast and Our Group chatted about
everything from solving the world problems to the latest in general aviation
and decided on the date and destination for our March Fly-In.

Robert Werve and Kristin Cline took our pictures at breakfast. I think
even Dennis Cullum took some pictures too. Hey guys, don't forget to send
the pics to Chris Claborne, our webmaster, so he can post them on our
website.

We were "fortunate" to meet and talk to Bob Filner (Democratic Congressman
from Chula Vista) as he was going into the Rosa's Plane Food restaurant. NO,
he didn't come in a GA plane, but rather a Blackhawk helicopter. I'm sure it
was some sort of "official business" and taxpayers picked up the tab. That's
a little catty, but I couldn't resist it.

OKAY, next Fly-In is on Sun, Mar 18th to Apple Valley (APV).

Get your planes ready, or reserve one, for the next Fly-In.

Best of clear skies and tailwinds,

Tony Tex
