Hello Everyone,

WHAT A SURPRISE on the number of people and planes showing up.  In spite
of some pilots staying home to watch the Charger/Patriot AFC Championship
game, SIXTEEN people and EIGHT planes made the Fly-In to Flabob. (Note: We
got back to SAN in the middle of the 1st quarter of the game.)

Flying out of SDM: Dennis Cullum in an RV3.

Flying out of MYF: Bert Bade & Ken Bade in a Great Lakes; Chris Claborne,
Mike Schmied & Massimo Fallacara in a Centurion; Chris Maier in a Cherokee;
and Bob Polich & Peter Slusser in a Bonanza.

Flying out of SEE: Jeff Cary & Jerry Jackson in a Skyhawk; Michael Gretton
In a Lancair; and Robert Werve, Tony Pears, Don MacManus & Tony Tex in a
Skymaster.

The AM weather was CAVU and the air smooth as silk. And it stayed that way
all day.  We couldn't ask for better flying weather, especially in the
winter and considering the rest of the country is experiencing very tough
weather.

At the Flabob Airport Cafe we had three tables and one booth close
together and did our usual "hangar flying" over breakfast.

Next Fly-In is on Sun, Feb 17. Only three suggestions: Mojave (MHV), Fox
Field (WJF) and Apple Valley (APV).  If there are no additional "votes" for
these airports, or a majority for other airports, within a couple weeks,
I'll select one.

Chris Claborne, our webmaster, took some pictures in the restaurant and
another picture with everyone (except him) in from of Bert's Great Lakes. I
believe Dennis Cullum and Chris Maier also took pictures, so Chris will have
plenty of pictures to select from and post some on our website.

Check your email frequently. In the very near future, I'll be emailing you
info regarding a trip to the Oshkosh Fly-In on either Southwest or Pioneer
airlines.

Tony Tex
